I've always remembered the above wise words from a famous poster I once bought when I first moved to London. Perhaps thinking about the ongoing BP oil spill combined with reading Seth's (Sethboyardee) latest blog post HERE regarding nuclear power, got me thinking about the whole subject of our planet's health.
Anyway I'm not sure if there will be time now to put up anymore posts before I go away to Cornwall this Saturday, although I will of course put up a going away picture on Friday or Saturday just to say that I'm away. Hopefully after a cyber rest and with a fresh bout of inspiration I'll be able to produce some new posts sometime later on in August.
Well I did say a while ago that some of the world's most beautiful boys come from The Philippines, and this beauty by the name of Ira is no exception. He even has that crossover look as though he may have had mixed parentage, perhaps he could be Eurasian as they're sometimes known.
Ira is certainly a bit of a fashion addict and he loves his photography. If you want to find out more about him then I've put his tumblr up on my tumblr favourites list. It seems that the beautiful Ira is a bit of a modern vampire!
Sunday saw huge crowds gather at Battersea Park for this year's London Thai Festival. The Festival is organized through the Thai-UK Trust which raises money not only for Thai Charities but also UK Charities.
This year also saw the event return to the more accessible and more central Battersea Park down by the River Thames.
As always there was lots to see including Thai cultural entertainment on the stage area with most of the entertainment put on by The Thai Dance Academy lead by the very handsome frontman Thames Puntar. They also closed out with an interesting performance called 'High Light of Four Phark' which features four well known dances from four regions of Siam.
As well as lots of interesting food on offer it did look like a lot of Chang beer was being consumed, and by around 6.00pm there was quite a few Brit revellers in a right old merry state. And when a Thai rum tasting session and demonstration took place on the stage area, some of the revellers couldn't get there quick enough.
Now I love a drink but a lot of the guys we saw at Battersea Park had clearly been drinking all afternoon if not all day. I hadn't actually noticed this until the b/f pointed this out to me. Of course he's a teetotaler and never touches the stuff. I've been trying to sell him the idea of a visit to Thailand but he seems more keen on another trip to the US.
A lot of the Brit guys that annually attend the Festival are regular visitors to Thailand, most commonly visiting places like Patayya and Bangkok.
The Festival organizers weren't sure where next year's venue would be but where ever it is it's always worth a visit. There's also an Annual Thai Festival held in June at Trafalgar Square where the the amazing Thai Dance Academy recently performed. But having performed yesterday at Battersea and with very little rest they now face a 10 hour flight to Thailand today for a show there tomorrow Tuesday.
