Here's a few choice images from an excellent Asian blog that might be fairly
familiar to Asian audiences. The particular images I've picked out are from
it's archive pages under the heading 'Cosplay.'
The word Cosplay is actually a shortening of the word Costume Play.
And we tend to think of it as part of Asian culture, which it dominantly is
yet costume play originated in The United States and the whole thing really
kicked off around 1990.
Cosplay Conventions are held all around the world especially in Asia where
enthusiasts dress up as comic and manga characters as well as characters
from video games.
It's easy to see how Cosplay has also influenced Japanese Street fashions
as well as hair styles.

Just an example of how Cosplay has influenced Japanese fashion
particularly with the hair styles.
And just below is a video of a cute Asian boy arranging his hair
in what might be described as a manga style.
It's as though life is imitating art!
